provides a record that I can refer to later if necessary.
Data Protection/Privacy Statement
Members of Parliament work within the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1988. This means that any personal information you pass on
to me will be treated as confidential. It is my normal practice to allow my staff and volunteer workers to see this information so they can assist me in helping and advising
you. I often need to pass on some or all of this information to agencies (for instance, a local council, a government
department, a health authority or the House of Commons library) in order to progress your case. If you contact me on behalf of someone else, I may first check that that person is happy for me to act on his/her behalf. My records are on
paper and on a computer for future reference. I only normally retain information for two years since you last contacted me. You have a right to see what information I hold about you. If you wish to see this, please write and let me
know.
